Persephone Privacy Policy

Persephone helps you find houseplants that fit the light, space, and care you actually have. It is built to know as little about you as possible.

What the app collects

Anonymous usage data. The app records which features are used (for example that a scan finished or a preview was generated) tagged with a random per-install identifier. This identifier is not tied to your name, email, or any account. We use this data to understand what is working and what is not. It is processed by our own server (Cloudflare) and by PostHog, our analytics provider.

Room photos. Photos you take of your space are sent to our server only to detect plant spots and to generate previews of plants in your room, using Google's Gemini image model. Photos are processed transiently and are not stored on our servers. Your photos and generated previews live on your device.

Account details. If you sign in with Apple or Google, your name and email stay on your device. They are not sent to our servers. Signing in is optional; the app is fully usable without it.

Location. If you grant location access, your coordinates are used on the device to estimate seasonal daylight for your home. Your location is never sent to our servers.

Feedback. If you send feedback through the app, the text you write is stored so we can read it.

What the app does not do

No advertising, no tracking across other apps or websites, no selling or sharing of data for marketing, no accounts required.

Buying links

Plant purchase links open Amazon. As an Amazon Associate, the developer earns from qualifying purchases. What you do on Amazon is governed by Amazon's own privacy policy.

Data deletion

Deleting the app deletes your rooms, plants, photos, and profile, which exist only on your device. To request deletion of the anonymous usage data or feedback, email the address below.
